“Just what is Lights?”
Lights is a complete anthology of the concerts that I, the author, have attended over the years. It is an archive of video, photographs, ticket stubs and other memorabilia as well as written memories.
“So why does this site exist?”
Over my years of attending shows, the best souvenirs I’ve brought home from a concert are the experiences. They can be relived, treasured, and best of all, shared with others. Lights is a place to keep and organize all of these experiences. Hopefully it will allow others to enjoy my memories along with me!
“Where did the title of this site come from?”
“Give me the lights” is a phrase from a Styx song (entitled Lights) on their Cornerstone album. Speaking of live performance as a healing escape from the negative aspects of life, the lyrics say: Tonight the lights will take me where I long to be / Just like a thousand nights before / I can’t explain, it gives me something. Not only do I agree with this sentiment, but I love the song too!
“Who is Kristen?”
Oh, that’s me! I’m a girl who lives in North Carolina and loves music — especially rock ‘n roll. A concert is my favorite place to be on any given night of the week :) I also have a day job as a graphic designer, and that’s pretty cool too.
“Why is there such a big gap in shows before early 2009?”
I’m still filling it in! Eventually there will be a plethora of shows during the years of 2007–2009, but it’s a lot to type up so I’m taking care of it as efficiently as I can :)
